What inspired you to start your blog?

The idea of blogging primarily came from my love of photography. I actually had a blog that I started years ago called Quintessentially Kris that helped serve as a memento of my time spent in Ghent, Belgium, but after returning home to North Carolina, I decided I needed a fresh start. That’s when the idea of Stock & Stone came to me. I wanted a place to share the things that I love but also chronicle the changes in my day to day life. I want to celebrate my quotidian.

Who takes your photos?

All of the photography is done by either me or my boyfriend, Olivier. I prefer to use my Canon 5D Mark III with a 50mm 1.4 lens or a Tamron 24-70mm lens for most of my shots and Oliver switches between the 5D and his Canon 70D. I highly recommend both cameras for photography and film making – they’re incredible machines.

Are you a photographer by profession?

While I do a bit of photography on the side (check out the business here), I actually work for a legal software company full time.

How did you and Olivier meet?

Olivier and I met over four years ago while I was studying in Brussels, Belgium. We’ve been pretty inseparable since. You can find a post on this at The Lala, a super awesome website created by a friend of mine I met in Belgium. Definitely check out their site!

How do I get in touch with you?

Shoot me an email at stockandstoneblog@gmail.com or send me a PM via Instagram or Facebook. I love to hear from you!
